The World Eaters' berserker transformation and the full dominance of the Butcher's Nails began during the campaign on the world of Ghenna, which occurred before Isstvan V during the Great Crusade. By the time of the Drop Site Massacre, Angron and his legion were already lost to the Nails, their fury unleashed on all sides. Angron was not among the first Primarchs to fall to Chaos; Horus and Fulgrim fell earlier, while Mortarion's fall to Nurgle occurred later than Angron's fall to Khorne at Isstvan V. His eventual alignment with Khorne, the Blood God, was the culmination of a long descent, not a sudden turn at Isstvan V.
